All Ionic apps are made and developed strictly from the Ionic command line utility (CLI), and afterwards using Cordova to build and deploy it as a native app.
This means that you might have to install a couple of utilities before developing.
Ionic CLI and Cordova
In order to make Ionic projects, you will have to install the latest version of the CLI and Cordova. Before doing this, you will be required to get a recent version of Node.js
Download the installer for NodeLTS and continue to install the Ionic CLI and Cordova for native app development.
$ npm install -g ionic cordova
You might have to add ‘sudo’ in front of the commands in order to install the utilities globally.
After that is done, make your first Ionic app.
ionic start cuteCatPics Add –type=ionic1
If you would like to use Ionic to be able to run your app, cd into the directory that was made and then execute the ionic serve command to test your app right in the browser.
$ cd cuteCatPics$ ionic serve
